Welcome to the Princeton Noodle Talk online forum. Our group meets once a month at the Princeton Public Library to share answers to a collection of questions known as Noodle Talk®.
Basically, it’s an excuse to sit around and schmooze (in a structured way), and effortlessly connect with other sentient beings — not on the basis of friendship, politics, work, religion, family, hobbies, etc. — but around our shared humanity. We laugh and sometimes cry, listen more than talk, gain insight into ourselves and others, and treasure the deep rapport that naturally arises.
The subjects cover almost the entire spectrum of inner and outer personal experience — from dust balls to metaphorical and metaphysical musings. (Some may argue that this isn’t much of a range.) Openness, respectful listening, and a sense of humor are highly encouraged; criticizing, intellectualizing, psycho-analyzing, interrupting, one-upping, digressing, pontificating, belching and passing gas loudly are definitely not.
Comments on this blog are moderated so please expect a short delay between submission and posting. New members are always welcome to join us in person the second Monday of each month from 7:00 – 8:45 pm in the first floor Quiet Room of the library. Participation is free and no advance notice is required. If you’d like more information however please don’t hesitate to email: noodletalk@mindspring.com or call 609.924.5584.
